Sail inventory
To M24 owners. When it comes to sail inventories, I hear that the 8ball could use any sails and do well. This may be true because 8ball is a very good boat and I have a very good crew. I'm still a little puzzled when I see new sails on other boats that are not North. I would like to tell you why you might want to give North a try. For the last 2 years I have been working with Ched Proctor at NS East. Ched is a champion sailor in some of the toughest classes in the country. He understands mast tune and all of the details needed to design a very fast suit of sails. I believe that my input over the last two years have helped Ched refine the M24 inventory. I have given Ched rake numbers, rig tension numbers and mast bend offsets. I have adjusted clew heights to maximize floating lead efficiencies.
I'd like to make this offer to the Moore class. If you are thinking about purchasing new sails, please give me a call. I'd be happy to let you barrow the sail that you're interested in and give the North Sail a look. The North Sails look very different than any other sails out there. My company was founded on helping the race boat owner go faster and win races and regattas. If brand X made faster sails, I'd be using them. Speed is absolutely critical in a very competitive one design fleet like the M24. You need to take a look at the North product. When I bought 8ball, three sailmakers offered me sails for free, I bought the North Sails!
For those of you that purchases the North Product, I'll give you my tuning guide numbers and tune your mast at no charge...if you're in the bay area. I'd also like to go out sailing with you too.
