New PHRF Number for M24

Moore 24 owners.

Many of you know that the local PHRF committee has introduced new down-wind ratings for the local PHRF and class boats. This down-wind rating will be imposed for races like the Delta Ditch. After looking at our new number I was a little alarmed...until I looked at the boats that usually beat us in this type race. The tough boats down-wind in the Delta Ditch run are always the Melges 24 and the Wylie Rabbits and the Thompson 650 Flight Risk.
Here's the breakdown with a few of the tough boats in these types of races. The moore 24 has gone from 150 to 123 a difference of 27 seconds per mile! This might seem alarming until we look at Express 27. They went from 129 to 96. A difference of 33 so we gained 6 seconds per mile!
The Wylie Rabbit went from 126 to 75 a gain for us of 24 seconds per mile! In a race like DD this could mean around 30 minutes! The Hobie 33 went from 90 to 42 another huge gain for us. The Thompson 650 that was second to us in the DD and the 3 Bridge has gone from 108 to 60. Again a gain for us from 42 seconds to 63 seconds. In conclusion its all good. Lookout for the WylieCat 30.
