Moore 24 Hall of Fame

Ron Moore (2021) Ron and his wife Martha built all ~150 Moores - a class that continues to flourish after 50 years.
Sydnie Moore (2021) No single person has cantributed to making this fleet what it is more than Syd. She is our most devoted cheerleader to whom we can largely attribute our fleet's ongoing turnout: by taking everyone's logistics upon herself. You will not be wondering where you'll stay when racing in Sata Cruz, or be left wihtout a spot to camp at Huntington lake. You will be well fed, and have a full crew! She is the honorary 'mother' of the fleet and works tirelessly to keep us going, while campaigning her own boat #84 Nobody's Girl for decades.
Michael O’Callaghan (2021) Mike has more Moore 24 racing under his belt than any of us, over the course of the last four decades. He can tell you about the 1982 Farallones race, last year's Delta Ditch Run, or any of his very many podium finishes in this very competitive fleet. He is the original owner of hull 51 and a force to be reckoned with out on the water.
John Siegel (2021) John owns hull 77 and is featured here only because he’s likely the oldest member of the fleet.
Joel Verutti (2021) Joel began his Moore infatuation in Lake Tahoe in the early 80s. As the original owner of hull 55 Mercedes, he brought to life a lasting legacy: the Roadmasters series, inspiring sailors from all up and down the west coast to tow their boats to an incredible array of destination regattas, from high altitude lakes to the pacific swell, inland rivers, and the world class cityfront of SF. Joel regrettably left us way too early in 2011. His daughter Josselyn continues to race Mercedes to this day.
Webb Chiles (2024) Completing an incredible westbound circumnavigation on Gannett (hull #40) in 2014-2017, Webb and his Moore have seen places the rest of us can only dream of. While the boats have proven to be a great oceangoing platform for Pacfic Cup race from SF to Hawaii, Webb is a Voyager. One attracted to the very analog experience offered by these boats. His experiences have brought visibility to the fleet from a much broader sailing community.
